More About the Film:

We believe University of the 'Hood®: the motion picture is worthy of your consideration and support based solely on the positive portrayal of African-Americans overall, but in particularly that of African-American women. Apart from this, the ancillary components of the film offer a rich pallet of cultural expression that will feed the soul and stimulate the mind.

For instance, the touring gospel choir and traveling exhibit (to museums, churches, and other venues) of stained glass windows and other artifacts from the film will be breathtaking and inspiring. The TV Specials about the film and the exhibit alone with books promise to be entertaining and enlightening.

We believe the original music soundtrack for the film will excite and move you. The CD will include special gospel tracks (traditional and contemporary).

The film and cultural events celebrate and affirm self-love. You will be proud to own, wear, and display the merchandise inspired by the film, because they represent that self-love. With your patronage and presence at the theaters and cultural events, we believe you will feel a sense of empowerment and pride.

We need your prayers and support now, more than ever, to bring this beautiful and powerful story to the screen. Please visit our online store and make a purchase. Attend the cultural events. Visit and sign our yearbook page (please read Terms of Use).

Further, whatever you do, go see UNIVERSITY OF THE 'HOOD® the very first weekend. Take your spouse, children, parents, grandparents and friends. Also, keep your ticket stubs. They will be good for discounts on University of the 'Hood® and University of the 'Hood Pit Bulls merchandise and other events.

Finally. It is our duty to create, cultivate, nurture and support positive self-images of and for ourselves. We cannot continue to let others define and shape our image. We can no longer leave this profoundly critical responsibility to others. Positive self-images (and positive actions) are the antidotes to the poisonous pandemic plague of distortions and false portrayals of African Americans that propagandist has propagated around the world. Ultimately. It is you and I that must plant seeds of positive self-images so that our children and grandchildren can harvest the fruits of high self-esteem, self-respect and self-love.
